I'm incredibly excited to finally be in a Japanese class! 〜(^∇^〜)
I took French throughout high school since my school didn't have Japanese. I took Japanese lessons in middle school, and I went to Aichi, Japan, for six weeks the summer between my sophomore and junior years. I learned plenty of Japanese while abroad, but it's been so long since I've been able to use it! 日本語~~おひさしぶりね!!I'm hoping to return to Japan soon, and I'm considering working there when I graduate. I'm studying mechanical engineering, so I'm hoping to connect my interests in both engineering and Japanese!
I am excited to practice speaking and expanding my vocabulary. I'm used to learning Japanese relatively slowly - through books, music, etc. - so catching up to the classroom pace is a bit challenging, but がんばりますよ!
(Also, the name of my blog is さいしょはぐうJapan Blog! based off Jankenpon, which is the Japanese version of rock paper scissors. Before showing rock, paper or scissors, both players say さいしょはぐう、 じゃんけんぽん!)
